Pink Maxi.

I have been sorting through my winter and spring clothes and starting to switch them out. I pulled out my maxi dresses and fell in love all over again. That's one thing I love about spring, dresses! Now if it could be spring all year long I would be one happy lady. I really really do not like summer.
Why did I get married in the summer you ask? Because planning a wedding in three months (yes, I was trying to have a wedding in March) did not work out logistically.

Anyways, I love spring! I was browsing Pinterest (shocker) and found this picture.

Can you say accamazing outfit to transition to spring?! ( did you catch the Pitch Perfect reference?)
Plus, this girl looks like Whitney Port from The Hills.
This was my copycat version:

Dress: Target (old)
Jean Jacket: J.Crew (Similar)
Shoes: Toms (last season)
Jewelry: Forever 21
Sunnies: (boutique shop)

When did this turn into a fitness blog?

Well it wasn't supposed too. I don't really want my blog to be all about fitness. There is way more to me than just fitness. I really want my blog to reflect me. I chose the name OverStyledMe not because it necessarily means I dress to the nines every day (although I wish I could, my faux fur is calling my name) but because I love everything in my life to be over the top. If you know me, you know I can tend me to a little on the over dramatic side...okay really dramatic side. Not that I whine or complain about everything (just some things) but I like everything over the top. I'm loud, talkative, have bold style, run my butt off, bubbly and really colorful. I'm open minded with a strong opinion. That's just me and I can't change that. I feel my blog name (maybe for now) represents all of who I am.

Anyways, I PROMISE I have fashion posts & apartment posts coming!

I am dying for new spring clothes but I am in between sizes and I'm also waiting to do some birthday shopping in Arizona when I'm with my girlfriends at the end of the month. Even though my birthday is this Sunday I planned on doing most of my shopping there.

I'm pretty sure I already put these in a post but I keep hinting to my husband I really want these for my birthday (Andrew, pay attention! Size 8)

Okay enough of all this randomness. Any spring essentials you've been eyeing lately?
I'm possibly thinking I want colored/floral jeans.

Oh, Weekend.

Friday: Well first I got my hair done! Yipee!! I was  looking forward to Friday night. My friend Rachel had a post Valentine's party planned. All day I was itching to go & enjoy a fun evening with friends. I didn't run that day because it was my rest day.

Saturday: Started the day with a 2 mile run. Wasn't my best run but I don't freakin care beacuse I did it and I am doing it. I am a runner now now matter how slow or fast and I go. My goal is to be running 3 miles by the end of March.
Andrew & I were off the afternoon to see some of our favorite people for lunch! We met up with Brian & Andrea & my friend Amber lives with there family & she came along too! I was so happy to see all three of them!! They are such amazing, genuine people that I truly am blessed by their friendships. We met up at five guys which was super yummy. Andrew also let me sneak in a little Lush trip before we met up with them! Love that store!
After I took Andrew to the church for band practice and I ran a couple errands before church.

Sunday: Sunday, I loathe you Sunday. I am really mad at you Sunday. Every Sunday I do a 3 mile hike with my mom but not this Sunday. No from 1am to 4am my body said no. You're getting sick and I am going to make you miserable for a couple of hours. Oh, and forget the dinner you ate that's not staying in your body for long. Ralph.
You get the picture. I got really sick and there was no way I could get up at 8am to go hike. I was so mad. I already was feeling like my running was slacking and I'm not doing any other strength training or circuit training so I was like well cool I can run but I'm not doing anything to improve it. Well besides hiking but obviously my body was mad at me and took that away from me. I mean I am running 4-5 days a week. Which is way more than like half of America. However, for me that's not good enough. I know how I pushed myself during sports and this isn't good enough for me.
Unless I take a step back and realize only 6 weeks ago I was sitting on the couch doing nothing. I mean I would walk a little here and there but really nothing. Now I can run two miles no problem. I should be happy & really I am but I am mad that I have had this little setback & also feeling like I am running to slow.

Okay, enough ranting but this week is a new week and my goal is to run 5 times this week. Whether its 1 mile or 3 I just want to actually run 5 times. Also, I want to start adding some strength training in. I am not brave enough to do the pool yet. Which is stupid because I love swimming and I know what I am doing. Maybe I will get brave who knows.
Any strength training tips? Pinterest helps a lot but I like hearing what real people do.

& P.S. I just laced up my shoes and went for a run. & I freakin bossed my mile & got under 12 minutes. I don't care that it was only one mile. I did it & I ran with my heart.

WHAT WHAT!

Okay have a great Monday ( even though we all know Monday's suck.)

Friday, Friday, FRIDAY!

1. I just got my hair done and went strawberry blonde! I am loving my new look & going against the trends of the horrifically, awful, looks like white trash roots ombre look. (To dramatic? I can't be the only one who dislike's this look? )
2. I really enjoyed going to Santa Cruz/Capitola on Monday with my husband.
3. I signed up for my first 10k in August! The San Francisco Giants Race! I'm pumped to be doing this with two of my best girlfriends!
4. I made a motivation wall in my spare bedroom. Can't wait to add more to it!
5. My Ipsy bag came yesterday and I was thrilled! I can't wait to try all these fun products. Ipsy has not let me down since I signed up 4 months ago & I am so happy I broke up with Birchbox!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Breathe.

Today is an okay day. It's Thursday & there's not a lot happening today. I went for a run & did a mile & a half and it just seemed to drag on. I had no motivation and just no desire to really make it a great run. Today I know
It's Okay...
-to not always feel on cloud nine after a workout. Some are going to be amazing & others will not.
-to have a messy apartment & not feel like that reflects my life.
-to not fit into a new pair of jeans even though they are the same style and size as another pair I own.
-to be nervous that I am actually going to run a 10k in August.
-that I may not be seeing all the results now but remembering to press on because my body won't change overnight.
-to know that God has a plan for Andrew & I even if we can't see the whole picture now.
-that I don't have sponsors for my blog or even really understand what that means because this blog is still in it's infancy and at the end of the day it's a place where I can express myself.

Oh, How Pinteresting

Well I am really feeling like an athlete again. Last night I ran 2 miles and didn't stop. Not once. I pushed through and I felt so proud after. I have really been working my way into running. I literally started by walking around my neighborhood just shy of 6 weeks ago. Now I can run miles & know I can push through and keep going.
My friend Tiffany asked me to think about doing a 10k with her in August. She also asked my best friend Kristina. Kristina is Tiffany's and I connecting friend. I have known Kristina since pretty much elementary school. Kristina and Tiffany met in college a few years back and they became best friends. Now all three of us are like three peas in a pod & have become a lot closer as a group lately. It's really been great and I am very thankful for their friendships!
Anyways, we have a little group chat on our iPhones and we are always cheering each other on in our fitness goals! Of course we talk about everything else but I am focusing specifically on fitness today. So yesterday Tiffany's parents bought her registration to do a 10K. So she asked me and really encouraged me that I could do it. Especially since in a short amount of time I can run 2 miles and the race isn't until August so I have plenty of time to train. Well Kristina doesn't live in CA right now but in August she will be in town so it worked out perfect for the three of us to challenge ourselves and train for a 10k! I am really excited and looking forward to training & accomplishing something that seems so big to me right now. Anyways, on to the Pinterest inspiring fitness photos!

Also I am really excited to start adding swimming into my workouts. I was a swimmer in high school and it is seriously the best activity to train all your muscles. It's low impact and such an easy calorie burner. I love swimming more than I do running but I want to really work up to being good at both so I have options and variety.
My water polo picture in high school. Would love to swim like I did then!

Three Day Weekend.

Can I just start by saying I love three day weekends? Seriously, the best. By the way this post may be a tad long. If you stick around, you are a gem & I really appreciate my readers & commenters!

Saturday, I did a photo shoot with my friend Lyndsie. She was my photographer for my engagement & wedding photos. Basically she's amazing. Not because she takes cool pictures ( that's just a bonus) but because she's one of the sweetest girls I know. I have known her for a really long time because we have grown up in the same church however, these past couple of years I have really had a chance to get to know her better & I have enjoyed that. Anyways, so Saturday was kind of a fluke thing. I was on a run when she texted me asking if I wanted to take photos for my blog. I was like UM YES! She was supposed to take pictures for something else & then that didn't happen so she had all of her equipment with her & that's how the photo shoot happened! Can't wait to share those pictures with you all soon!

Sunday, Andrew was asked to sing at our church! He is the sound and lighting tech for our church but his first love is music. That's where his talent is & what he loves. He loves doing all the tech side of things but it's nice to get out from behind the soundboard and rock out for The Lord!

Monday, we had a day trip planned to Santa Cruz. We never usually have the same day off so when we do we take full advantage of it! Santa Cruz & Capitola are some of our favorite spots. We started out going to Pac ave (Pacific Avenue) and grabbing some lunch. We did a little bit of shopping and then grabbed coffee before we headed out to Capitola to hang on the beach.

^ For my bestie Kristina because when she went to college at Bethany she always took me here^

^ New glasses I picked up at one of my favorite boutiques, Stripe.
I wouldn't know anything if my bestie Kristina hadn't introduced me to these amazing places)^

So then after all of this fun we headed to Capitola. We went to our our favorite Taffy shop and loaded up. Then we sat on the beach for maybe an hour. It was overcast and on the colder side but I love those kind of beach days.

^ He was a little cold!^

^ super cold water came up really fast!^

^ I am such a water baby^

Lastly, Andrew and I joined 24 hour fitness last night. There was a good deal going on and no contract so we decided to do it. I am so glad he did too because on rainy days like today I can still workout.
Best part. They have a pool. I cannot wait to get my swimming up to par again.
I had a really amazing weekend. Lots of fun & memories made.
What did you all do with your weekend?

Confessional Friday.

1. I confess I am not used to long work days anymore and 9 hours seems like forever. (currently on lunch break checking every 5 minutes if it's 6 yet)

2. I confess that I had an amazing first married Valentine's day. My husband rocks!

3. I confess I am getting really excited for my birthday on March 3 & also for a weekend getaway with two of my best girlfriends!

4. I confess I would rather buy inexpensive clothing items because then if something happens to them I don't get upset because they are easily replaceable.

5. I confess I really want to travel a lot this year.

6. I confess I am tempted to cut my hair a little shorter. Not short...but shorter.

Any confessions? Go see Leslie to confess!
